Sandbags Offered in McLean Ahead Of Hurricane Florence

MCLEAN, VA—Fairfax County will provide sandbags for McLean area residents ahead of Hurricane Florence arriving on the East Coast. The Department of Public Works and Environmental Services will hand out 10,000 sandbags at four locations, including McLean Governmental Center, 1437 Balls Hill Road, McLean. Other locations include the Mount Vernon RECenter, 2017 Belle View Blvd., Alexandria; Reston Regional Library, 11925 Bowman Towne Drive, Reston; and Pohick Regional Library, 6450 Sydenstricker Road, Burke. Fairfax County officials urge residents to prepare for flooding despite the latest forecast which shows the hurricane moving away from NoVA. Fairfax County officials will provide 10,000 sandbags for McLean area residents ahead of Hurricane Florence arriving on the East Coast. These sandbags will be dispersed at four locations which include McLean Government Center, Mount Vernon RECenter, Reston Regional Library, and Pohick Regional Library. County staff will not leave these places until all the bags are distributed. The county officials also advise the residents to buy their own sandbags at the hardware store or fill their grocery bags with sand or soil.


Lewinsville Park in McLean, VA

Lewinsville Park is a park, a playground, and a soccer field. It also has tennis courts and basketball courts. Lots of sports fanatics come here to practice their games. What is good about this place is that it has six tennis courts so a lot of people can be accommodated. Kids also have a fun time playing in the playground. It even has a small garden area at the back. The McLean Farmer's Market is also set here during the weekend. Local vendors set up stalls and sell farm produce such as milk, eggs, vegetables, and fruits. You can buy these fresh products at very reasonable prices.
